ConstructSim Planner CONNECT Edition Update 5 Help

Creating Work Packages

A work package is a detailed planning tool used to create crew-level scope of work, materials, and estimated labor hours required for completion. A work package defines the scope of work for a crew to perform over a one or two week period of time. It enables an organization to communicate across the construction team and to keep them focused on the execution of the project. Work packages take the quantity of a component and convert it to labor hours, based on SPURT or custom unit rates.

Standard unit rate tables, taken from industry sources, are used to help quantify and plan tasks and the time needed to complete them. Piping rate tables are called SPURT; steel rate tables are called SSURT. You can also develop your own rate tables or modify existing ones.

Work packages are made up of components organized in a sequence for use by your organization. Having the components grouped in a Work Package gives you the ability to perform all of the basic component tree functions at a work package level. You can focus on a work package in the 3D view, isolating only the components affected by the work pack.

You can create a boundary to group components in the 3D view and use the boundary to create a work package.

Using the tools in the Synchronization Task, you should coordinate your work with other users before starting to create a work package and commit your changes after you have completed your work.

If you create a work package using the ConstructSim Work Package Server web-based interface, the work package displays in the Work Package dialog.
